Another Shaker Style

The other common shaker I thought I would add to the collection next is the 2 nesting cups.
Generaly the one cup is glass the other Stainless Steel. I found this one on Ebay as well, and although the seller was against shipping to Canada, we convinced them to ship to some of my relatives in Michigan, then my dad on a trip through to see us here in Oakville, was nice enough to act as delivery boy.

Found: Ebay
Price: $8.00, and one yet to be claimed favour to my dad.

Who woulda figgured Ebay had a use?

A little research about my new found hobby, and we discovered that Hazel Atlas made some pretty cool shakers, and in my opinion the Pink Elephant shaker tops this list. Soon Tina had won a bid on Ebay from a lady in Ottawa for a Pink Elephant Shaker and 5 matching glasses.

Found Ebay
Price $100.00USD

A collector in the making.

Off for a day trip with my new friend... Hmm... new friend. What a lucky SOB Iam.

We decided to do a little antique hunting through Fergus, and Elora. While walking through the stalls I saw a shaker then another, and soon I was seeing them all over, and before the day was out I had bought somewhere around 10 shakers. Most were in the same 50's style, and prices ranged from $5.00 to $25.00. What a blast it was great fun. Here are some of the pics from my first real shaker hunt.

The Birth of a collection

While I was cruising the Kerr street strip near my new bach pad, I found a little used stuff store, I was really looking for card/booze theme stuff, when I saw this shaker.

It looked quite retro, and as I found out later it is a repro taken from the styles popular in the 50's and 60's.

Little did I know that it was the start of a obssesion....

Found: Kerr Street, now gone junk store
Price $18.00,, easily found from $12-$20
